The All Women’s Sunset Shred is coming to Denver hosted by Pivot Cycles and Elevation Cycles Highlands Ranch! Together with sponsors DT Swiss, 10 Barrel Brewing, and Wild Rye we are donating 100% of Sunset Shred proceeds to World Ride, the official partner of the 2022 Sunset Shred Series.
We will be taking twenty five lucky women on a high vibes backyard ride led by Pivot athletes and ambassadors, followed by an aprés party with presenting partner DT Swiss, snacks, swag, beer from contributing partner 10 Barrel Brewing, and – new this year – a viewing of the acclaimed World Ride Movie Night. Prepare to be inspired, connect with like-minded lady riders, and build your MTB community.
The guided ride experience will begin and end at Elevation Cycles in Highlands Ranch with two unique ride options at Deer Creek and Wildcat Mountain. Pivot demos will be set up beginning at 3:30pm, and riders will self-shuttle a short 10-15 minute drive to the trailhead. Everyone will gather at the trailhead and climb, both rides will have re-group points, and everyone will rendezvous back at Elevation Cycles for an aprés party and World Ride Movie Night.
“What skill level is necessary?”
Option A: “Blue” – Wildcat Mountain Trail System If fun and fast without any technical “wall” climb is what you are looking for, then the Wildcat Mountain Trail is perfect for you. This fun, fast flowy single track will put a smile on your face. This xc style trail is perfect to check out the speed and handling capabilities of your demoed Pivot bike.
Option B – “Black”: Deer Creek Double Loop. Like many trails on the front range, you’ll earn your downhill on this trail. This trail is known for a technical uphill featuring an obstacle known as “The Wall”. Once past the difficult uphill, you are presented with views of the Denver cityscape and the surrounding southern metro area. Start your ride on the Plymouth Mountain Trail heading up a short but steep drainage. It’s a 2-mile obstacle filled climb that’s a lung buster for all but the superhuman.
To make the climb even more interesting, towards its end you’ll hit “The Wall”, a stretch of granite steps and loose rock unrideable by most. As the trail levels out, you’ll have the option of riding the mellower Red Mesa Loop or Plymouth Mountain Trail. Both loops provide scenic views of the southern Denver metro area and are rideable by an intermediate rider.
“Can I demo a bike?”
