Over the past few years Pivot Cycles have staked their place in the industry with their innovative mountain bike range. Right now, they’re investing their expertise into an E-MTB of a very particular creed: the Shuttle. The Shuttle’s sophisticated carbon frame design houses a conventional Shimano battery, which is both lighter and more compact than the integrated model. With four frame sizes, Pivot have run the gamut for riders of all heights. The premium specs on this bike are not a surprise considering the € 9,999 price tag – and help to keep the weight down to a slim 20.83 kg. Up front there’s a formidable FOX 36 Factory fork ironing out the trail, while the rear relies on proven DW Link suspension to deliver a really plush ride. Thanks to the low centre of gravity and well-considered geometry, the Shuttle handles like a dream on burly terrain. Currently, there are few E-MTBs that offer this much playfulness in such a well-rounded package.
The Design & Innovation Award is both a seal of approval and the benchmark achievement for the bike industry’s highest-performing products. The Design & Innovation Award is more than just a title-giver or a round of applause for brands. It’s the definitive award that decisively tests products in the real world, assessing them in their entirety and reaching considered verdicts. This year once again saw select international journalists, professional test riders, and industry experts invest more than 6,000 hours of their time to partake in the DI.A process.
