Riding Style: Fitness challenged uphill, smiling ear-to-ear downhill

- Where are you from?
I was born and raised in an awesome little neighborhood that sits at the foot of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods in Colorado Spring. I was “mountain biking” in the foothills of Colorado with my little banana seat bike before fat tire bikes were invented. It was a unique, fun place to be from. As a result, I’m a greenie at heart, even though I have lived the past 25 plus years in Arizona and I am proud to call Arizona my home.
- Where is your all-time favorite trail or area?
Hands down, no question! Moab ,Utah – UPS, LPS and Porcupine Rim. The view can’t be beat and the trail is highly technical, which I love. There is nothing like starting a ride at snow fall and descending down to the desert. Takes my breath away and pumps my adrenaline every time, it never gets old. It’s been my favorite trail for many, many years, but I won’t say how many, as that would date me.
- What do you do here anyway?
I'm the head bean counter. I like counting beans.
- How did you wind up at Pivot?
Well…, it all started about 25 years ago when I found it easier to bring my bike mechanic home than to take my bike into the mechanic. I have been married to Chris Cocalis for over 20 years now, and in addition to two great boys our family grew to include Pivot. It is a big part of our lives and our lifestyle and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s been quite a journey so far and I am blessed to have been a part of this wonderful company from the beginning.
- If I gave you a bowl of ice cream, what would you put on it?
I would politely hand it back to you and ask you if, instead, I could have a jar of peanut butter, a bag of chocolate chips, a spoon and a gallon of milk to wash it down.
