Pro-level enduro performance in a shred-ready aluminum package.

The Mach 6 Aluminum brings Pivot’s progressive long and low enduro/trail geometry to our top tier alloy design, offering best-in-class stiffness, power transfer, and suspension performance to every rider who’s ready to tackle new, challenging terrain. With stunning uphill capability and downhill handling that beats any bike in its class, it’s the choice for mastering every part the mountain.

New Enduro / Aggressive Trail Geometry

The new Mach 6 Aluminum incorporates the same progressive measurements as the new Mach 6 Carbon. With a new, slacker, 65.75 degree head angle, steep 74 degree seat angle, and Pivot’s long travel, downhill-influenced linkage, the 155mm travel Mach 6 Aluminum offers ultra-stable high speed handling, and the ability to make short work of black diamond descents. This progressive design enables every rider and enduro racer to conquer more technical terrain.

When climbing, the newly steepened seat angles and extended cockpit of the Mach 6 Aluminum help to increase traction and keep the bike balanced and centered on the most technical uphill challenges, enabling riders to conquer climbing obstacles they never thought possible.

Smaller riders benefit from customized geometry in every frame size. While sizes Medium, Large and X-Large see significant increases in top tube length, sizes Small and X-Small remain compact, in keeping with our rider-size-specific design philosophy, while still offering the climbing advantages of the steeper seat angle, and a nimble, capable handling on descents.

Aluminum Frame and Linkage Design

The Mach 6 Aluminum utilizes next generation, variable wall thickness, hydroforming technology to create complex multi axis tube shapes. This forming method enables our engineers to vary the internal wall thicknesses within extremely precise tolerances and to offer similar strength and stiffness as found in our Mach 6 Carbon, with only a small increase in overall weight. The Mach 6 Aluminum utilizes the same ultra-stiff clevis and linkage, and large, suspension specific, EnduroMax bearings as its carbon brother, for best-in-class power transfer and the precision handling essential in any enduro/trail race bike.

DW-Link® And Fox Suspension

The Mach 6 Carbon features acclaimed dw-link® suspension, dialed for long travel applications. The dw-link®’s famed anti-squat delivers non-stop traction, while the variable wheel travel path provides unmatched square-edge bump absorption and control on technical descents. The responsiveness and bottomless feel of the Mach 6 Aluminum is matched only by the exceptionally efficient climbing capability for faster, easier ascents – getting you to the next descent before everyone else.

The Mach 6 Aluminum is spec’d with the Fox Float DPS shock with the EVOL air sleeve, tuned specifically for the Mach 6. The new Float DPS features improved bump absorption and firm lockout with a new DPS damper with three on-the-fly lever adjustments – Open, Medium and Firm options cover all of your terrain choices. The EVOL air sleeve significantly reduces the force required to initiate travel for the ultimate in small bump compliance, better bottom-out resistance and an incredibly plush feel in every setting. While dw-link® is inherently efficient on its own, the firm option is great for long climbs. These shock features are direct complements to dw-link® suspension tuning and patented position-sensitive anti-squat, giving riders even better traction on steep climbs and over rough trail.

To match Mach 6 Carbon’s rear suspension, we’ve paired it with the newest 160mm FOX 36 fork now featuring an EVOL air spring and updated upper tubes for unparalleled small bump sensitivity – It’s the perfect fork to match any trail rider’s need for aggressive, balanced handling on every part of the mountain.

ALL THE RIGHT DETAILS

The Mach 6 Aluminum utilizes external full housing cable routing, run along the downtube, with internal routing through the chainstay. The frame is both 1x and 2x compatible and stealth dropper are easy to install, with simple, clean internal routing through the seat tube.

The Mach 6 Aluminum is available in five sizes to fit riders from 4’11” to 6’3”+ from Extra Small (XS) to Large (L) and Large (Long) options.

WOMEN & PIVOT:

The Mach 6 Aluminum is offered in 5 sizes to fit a wide range of rider sizes and riding styles. At Pivot, we believe the bike should fit the rider, not the other way around. Our approach to rider-size-specific geometry relies on a balanced fit and adjusted geometry to maintain correct wheelbase length and handling to properly accommodate the proportions of every size ride, including smaller athletes. Our S and XS sizes are built with shorter head tubes to create more stand-over height, enabling you to ride in a centered, athletic position with tons of clearance over the top tube – essential to attacking descents and cornering with confidence and speed.

We create the same handling experience across the range by engineering specifically each frame size. Size-specific engineering enables us to create lighter frames in the small sizes while maintaining the same high strength in a more compact design.

Pivot complete bikes are also designed to intelligently address real-world rider differences, with the option to choose women’s specific saddle on any size as well as shorter crank lengths on our XS sizes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which size bike should I purchase?

We suggest that you pick your Mach 6 size based on your riding style. The Medium, Large and X-Large Mach 6 features enduro/trail bike long and low geometry with both shorter seat tube and head tube measurements per size – this geometry means that most riders can go up or down a size and should base their choice on riding-style, reach and stem length preferences. For shorter riders already running short stems, the Mach 6 X-Small and Small sizes feature rider size appropriate reach and geometry to make sure that your Mach 6 handles perfectly for you. Be sure to also consult our dropper post fit guide when making your selection. You can always reach out to us on Live Chat for additional guidance.
Mach 6 Carbon and Aluminum Sizing Recommendations:
X-Small: 4'11" – 5’4”
Small: 5'3" – 5’6”
Medium: 5'6” – 5’11”
Large: 5'10” – 6'3”
X-Large: 6'2” +

What dropper post length should I use on my Mach 6 Aluminum?

The Mach 6 Aluminum features a low stand-over height and short seat tubes to allow the use of longer travel dropper posts and/or more flexibility for a wider range of rider sizes.

There are some limitations that each dropper post can accommodate for each frame size based on the individual rider’s saddle height, so it is important to check fit before choosing the travel and model of dropper post for your Mach 6 Aluminum. Use this guide to find the right post for your bike:

How do I set the sag on my Mach 6 Aluminum?

We make it easy to get the best ride out of your Pivot bike with a simple sag indicator already installed on your bike. Please consult our suspension set up guide: ( ), and/or this follow-along video featuring our own Bernard Kerr:

How do I set the sag on my Mach 6 Aluminum?

We make it easy to get the best ride out of your Pivot bike with a simple sag indicator already installed on your bike. Please consult our suspension set up guide and/or this follow-along video featuring our own Bernard Kerr:

https://vimeo.com/pivotcycles/sag

What hub/wheel spacing does the Mach 6 Aluminum use?

The Mach 6 Aluminum uses the Boost 148mm X 12mm hub/wheel spacing. This is a hub design with wider flanges so you cannot take a current 135mm, 142mm, 150mm, or 157mm hub and change end caps to convert an existing hub.

What is the thread pitch on the rear axle?

Pivot uses a 1.5 thread pitch on the rear thru axle. You can order one through our online store. This is also the same thread pitch and axle length as the Shimano Boost 148mm X 12mm through axle so most Shimano compatible axle should work as well if you somehow manage to lose your Pivot or DT Swiss rear axle and need something compatible to keep you going.

What size seatpost does the Mach 6 Aluminum use?

The Mach 6 Aluminum frame uses a 30.9mm seatpost.

What size seat clamp does the Mach 6 Aluminum use?

The Mach 6 Aluminum frame uses a 34.9mm or 35mm (as some manufacturers call it) seatpost clamp.

Can I run a water bottle on the Mach 6 Aluminum?

Yes, the Mach 6 Aluminum features 1 set of bottle mounts underneath the down tube on all size frames.

Can I mount a chain guide on my Mach 6 Aluminum?

Yes. The Mach 6 Aluminum features ISCG05 mounts on the frame. Most upper guides on the market will fit and you can either use the ISCG05 mounts or some of the more compact versions that attach to an E-Type front derailleur mount. For full upper and lower guides, we recommend the MRP AMG for the Mach 6 Carbon.

What front derailleur does the Mach 6 Aluminum use?

The Mach 6 Aluminum uses an e-type Shimano side-swing style front derailleur only. Shimano produces the e-type side-swing front derailleur in Deore and SLX for 10 speed drivetrains and XT and XTR for 11 speed drivetrains.

What travel fork can I use on my Mach 6 Aluminum?

The Mach 6 Aluminum was designed for either a 160mm fork. The maximum travel length that can be used on the Mach 6 Aluminum is 160mm travel.

What is the fork offset on the Mach 6 Aluminum?

The fork offset on the Mach 6 Aluminum is 44mm.

How wide of a tire can I run on the Mach 6 Aluminum?

The Mach 6 Aluminum can run 27.5” tires up to 2.4”.

What headset do I need for the Mach 6 Aluminum?

The Mach 6 Aluminum uses a ZS (zero stack) 44mm top and (zero stack) 56mm bottom, or a Chris King Inset 2.

How large of a rotor will fit on the Mach 6 Aluminum?

The Mach 6 Aluminum was designed for a 180mm rotor and features a 180mm post mount design so you cannot fit a 160mm rotor on the Mach 6 Aluminum frame.

What type of rear brake adapter do I need?

No brake adapter is needed for a 180mm rotor. However, many manufacturers make adapters for larger rotor sizes, in which case you would need the proper direct mount/post to post adapter to go from a 180mm to 203mm rotor.

What cranks will the Mach 6 Aluminum accept?

The Mach 6 Aluminum will accept all cranks designed for the BOOST system and compatible with a press fit 92mm bottom bracket. BOOST system means that the rear hub spacing is 148mm and the chain-rings have been shifted out approximately 3mm from where a tradition crank designed for a 142mm rear hub would be so that the chainrings will line up properly with the new position of the cassette on the 148mm rear hub.

Can I run non-Boost™ cranks on my Mach 6 Aluminum?

In some cases you can run a conventional non-BOOST 1X or 2X crank. The Race Face NEXT 1X and other Cinch system 1X cranks are dual compatible between standard 142mm and 148mm Boost rear ends. Some smaller chainring combination 1X (30 and 32T) Shimano XT and XTR 11 will also work. In some cases 2X standard cranks may also work with 24/34, 26/36 and 22/36 combinations. Shimano’s new 11 Speed XTR and XT standard cranks feature both 24/34 and 26/36 chainring options which work perfectly with the Mach 6 Aluminum frame as Shimano’s chainline dimensions already tend to run wider than others in the market. There may be other 2X non- boost cranks available that will work although it is dependent on specific chainline and chainring size. If the chainline is not out far enough, the front derailleur clearance may be tight when shifting into the small ring as the front derailleur mount on the Mach 6 Aluminum is also shifted outwards to accommodate the BOOST design.

Additionally, you cannot run cranks designed specifically with a narrower Q Factor such as XTR Race 158mm Q factor crank and the SRAM XX1 156Q crank (In fact, for any SRAM 1X cranks, you need to run their specific BOOST version of the crank).

What is the narrowest Q factor crank that the Mach 6 Aluminum will accept?

The Mach 6 Aluminum will accept cranks with a standard Q factor measurement as low as 163mm. You cannot run cranks designed specifically with a narrower Q Factor such as XTR Race 158mm Q factor crank and the SRAM XX1 156Q crank

What bottom bracket is used on the Mach 6 Aluminum?

The Mach 6 Aluminum uses a Press Fit 92mm BB. Some bottom bracket manufacturers may refer to it as BB92 of PF92 as well. Every crank manufacture offers Press Fit 92mm BB options.

What is the eye-to-eye shock length and stroke length on the Mach 6 Aluminum?

The eye-to-eye shock length is 8.5 inches and the stroke length is 2.5 inches.

If I want to run a different brand of shock on my Mach 6 Aluminum, what else do I need to know?

The Mach 6 Aluminum shock uses M8 through bolt hardware on the front and no hardware on the rear. Shock spacer dimensions are 22mm wide front. On the rear of the shock, the spacer hardware and bushing will need to be removed as the strut mounts directly to the shock body. Some shocks may have a different spec then the FOX shock (that the Mach 6 Aluminum is designed for) and may not fit properly. Also, as we cannot test every shock on the market, riders assume some risk if they choose a shock that does not fit properly or is not tuned correctly for the bike. The frame is designed around a large volume air can. We run medium compression valving and medium rebound damping.

Can I run a Cane Creek Double Barrel shock on my Mach 6 Aluminum?

Yes, as long as you order the correct eyelet size (15mm eyelet). Additionally, the fit of the Cane Creek shocks into our strut is not as precise as that on the Fox shocks so extra care needs to be taken to make sure that the shock is not able to rotate or move in the strut as any sideways movement during riding can damage the frame.

Can I put a coil-over shock on my Mach 6 Aluminum?

You cannot run a coil-over on your Mach 6 Aluminum! The Mach 6 was designed to work with the progressiveness of an air spring. A coil-over shock (even one with separate bottoming control) does not offer the progressive spring curve that the Mach 6 requires. Running a coil-over shock on the Mach 6 will result in hard bottoming and damage to the frame. In short, we don’t recommend a coil over on the Mach 6 aluminum and it will void your warranty. Additionally, any frame damage occurring due to issues related to any shock that is not what is supplied with the bike or offered as an upgrade for the Mach 6 through Pivot Cycles will not be covered under warranty.

What are the torque specs?

A detailed PDF of the torque specs can be found under the "Tech Specs" tab.

What is the eye-to-eye shock length and stroke length on the Mach 5.5 Carbon?

The eye-to- eye shock length is 7.875 inches (200mm) and the stroke length is 2 inches (50.8mm).

If I want to run a different brand of shock on my Mach 5.5 Carbon, what else do I need to know?

The Mach 5.5 Carbon shock uses M8 through bolt hardware on the front and no hardware on the rear. Shock spacer dimensions are 36mm wide front. On the rear of the shock, the spacer hardware and bushing will need to be removed as the rocker mounts directly to the shock body. Some shocks may have a different spec then the Fox shock (that the Mach 5.5 Carbon is designed for) and may not fit properly. Also, as we cannot test every shock on the market, riders assume some risk if they choose a shock that does not fit properly or is not tuned correctly for the bike. The frame is designed around a large volume air can. We run medium compression valving and medium rebound damping.

Can I run a Cane Creek Double Barrel Air shock on my Mach 5.5 Carbon?

Yes, as long as you order the correct eyelet size (15mm eyelet).

Can I put a coil-over shock on my Mach 5.5 Carbon?

You cannot run a coil-over on your Mach 5.5 Carbon! The Mach 5.5 Carbon was designed to work with the progressiveness of an air spring. A coil-over shock (even one with separate bottoming control) does not offer the progressive spring curve that the Mach 5.5 Carbon requires. Running a coil-over shock on the Mach 5.5 Carbon will result in hard bottoming and damage to the frame.

What are the torque specs?

A detailed PDF of the torque specs can be found under the "Tech Specs" tab.
