Shipping & Assembly Assistant

PIVOT Cycles Position Available: Shipping & Assembly Assistant

Full Time Position: Hourly/Entry Level

Location: Tempe, AZ

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with knowledge of the bike industry and a passion for cycling to fill the entry level position of Shipping and Assembly Assistant. You will be responsible for the proper assembly and installation of high end bicycle components that help to complete single to multi bike orders while maintaining a high level of quality.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a good knowledge of the bicycle industry, components and bicycle related tools
  • Be committed to completing jobs on hand and reaching daily sales shipping goal

Responsibilities:

Graphic Designer

PIVOT Cycles Position Available: Graphic Designer

Full time position: Salary

Location: Tempe, AZ

We are hiring a Graphic Designer who will work within the Design/Engineering team to lead the physical design of visual assets in a manner consistent with Pivot Cycles brand and design standards.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to complete designs for Pivot Cycles product – graphic design, color, packaging, retail fixture/POP needs, soft goods graphics & color and other media. The Graphic Designer will also lead internal creative conceptualization and planning discussions related to graphic design and future vision. The position will also develop color strategy with our Design/Engineering team and implement plans for commercialization. Additional responsibilities will include creation of the Pivot Cycles color library, graphic assets, material samples, and maintenance of all graphic design project files.
The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a passion for cycling.
  • Exhibit high proficiency and knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Be highly creative in both 3D and 2D graphical concepts.
  • Possess strong knowledge of consumer products and outdoor industries.
  • Have a great eye for what’s new, current and on trend, and strong sensitivity to color, aesthetics and materiality.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables, while adhering to project requirements and meeting deadlines.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Working with the design/engineering team to design full graphics packages for bicycle frames (full size ranges) and components including paint and decal layout.
  • Designing product decals, specifying color, finish, and details.
  • Creating full production files for approved concepts.
  • Supporting the Sales and Marketing teams in the creation of support media and POP items.
  • Working closely with the Design/Engineering team as well as Marketing for project management and resourcing needs.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Graphic Design or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in Graphic Design
  • Soft-goods color and graphics development knowledge a plus
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

Credit and Collections Specialist

Pivot Cycles Position Available: Credit and Collections Specialist

Full Time Position: Hourly

Location: Tempe, AZ

We are looking for a friendly, motivated mountain bike rider/enthusiast to join the Credit team at Pivot Cycles. The Credit and Collections Specialist is responsible for answering dealer and distributor questions about credit and terms via email and phone, contacting customers for payments, and reviewing sales orders for accuracy. This position also assists the Credit Manager in the day-to-day activities of the Credit department which can include reviewing aged receivables, contacting customers for payment or updated financials, notifying internal departments of credit holds, and arranging payment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with dealers and distributors for payments and payment plans
  • Answer customer’s questions about payment application, balances due, etc.
  • Send statements and invoices as needed
  • Follow up with potential customers for missing new account documents
  • Aid in our sales/credit vision while providing excellent customer service
  • Review and audit sales orders for accuracy

Requirements:

  • 2-year Accounting degree
  • Current and significant experience with credit and collections in the bicycle industry, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual
  • Ability to exhibit composure and confidence when confronting stressful or high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products – Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience with Great Plains Dynamics a plus, but not mandatory

Product Designer

Full Time Position: Salary

Location: Tempe, AZ

We are looking for a detail oriented individual with a good Industrial Design or Engineering background that has good creative product design and documentation experience within SolidWorks and the Adobe Creative Suite. This person will be an integral member of the Design/Engineering team and will contribute to the creation of nearly all Pivot products. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to work with the design team to successfully bring new projects to production as well as to maintain production of current products through a heavily reviewed creative process involving conceptualization, 3D design, and production documentation. This position is directly involved in bicycle frame design, it will require the creation and modification of 3D models and detailed assemblies, 2D drawings, BOMs, as well as assembly and QC documentation. The position will require a good understanding of bicycle assembly components and related constraints. The candidate will need to have the patience and detailed mindset needed to properly design within all requirements in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Exhibit a good talent for exceptional aesthetic 3D design that is also functional.
  • Have excellent project management and project scheduling skills.
  • Be able to proficiently keep track of a multitude of projects at one time.
  • Have high proficiency in SolidWorks with the ability to model complex surfaces and assemblies.
  • Competently work within the Adobe Creative Suite to create documents.
  • Be able to competently create production drawings with tolerances within SolidWorks.
  • Be available to travel for work including an occasional trip to Asia
  • Have general mechanical bicycle knowledge and be a cycling enthusiast.
  • Have two years minimum of bicycle/frame design experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design complete production-ready bicycle frames and assemblies in 3D.
  • Design vendor-ready graphics packages for bicycle frames and components.
  • Create Production and production support documentation and presentations.
  • Effectively manage production timelines and vendor schedules.
  • Work with Engineering, Design, Proto-typing and Manufacturing to take future Pivot Cycles products from idea to reality.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Industrial Design or Design Engineering is preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in product design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent SolidWorks skills in parts, drawings, and assemblies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite of products – Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Organized and self-motivated individual.

Controller

PIVOT Cycles Position Available: Controller

Full time position: Salary

Location: Tempe, AZ

This position reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for the global accounting operations and controls of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Recommend, develop, implement and update accounting policies and procedures to meet changing business needs.
  • Summarize current financial status in the preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss statement, statement of cash flow and other accounting reports.
  • Assist CFO in preparation of annual and rolling financial forecasts and special projects.
  • Prepare and present financial statements and reports to the company’s Board of Directors.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions for compliance.
  • Accounting Manager will report to the Controller.
  • Maintain confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in similar position in the cycling industry preferred
  • Global accounting operations experience in the cycling industry preferred
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with:
    • complex intercompany accounting
    • inventory accounting in a manufacturing environment
    • multicurrency accounting environments
  • MS Great Plains Dynamics or similar enterprise accounting software experience is mandatory
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products – Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Highly organized individual with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time with minimal oversight and management

Demo Driver

Pivot Cycles Position Available: Demo Driver

Full Time Position: Salary

Location: On the road in a territory to be determined

Travel Requirement:  Traveling 11 months of the year while living in hotels and the demo vehicle.

The Demo Driver is one of Pivot’s most important customer interaction points – meeting thousands of potential and current Pivot customers around the country each year at retailer-based demos and bicycle festivals. The Demo Driver will strive to achieve and maintain the highest standards of professionalism and quality in all aspects of the job. Candidate must be a cyclist with a passion for the sport.

 

Job Duties:

  • Conduct demos and dealer visits in a territory to be determined, while traveling up to eleven months of the year.
  • Help to coordinate the scheduling and organization of events while providing marketing support to our dealers in order to ensure that the events are well attended and successful.
  • Work with the Phoenix-based Demo Coordinator to plan and implement a year-long demo event schedule based on the needs of the sales and marketing departments.
  • General upkeep and maintenance of the demo truck and trailer
  • Maintaining the demo fleet to the highest standards of functionality, safety, cleanliness and aesthetics between each demo event for like-new appearance and ride experience, per Pivot Cycles standards.
  • Engaging with dealers, reps and riders to convey the Pivot Cycles brand and product in a positive manner, with an eye toward supporting and creating sales of Pivot product.
  • Conducting technical education, greeting customers, consistently gathering rider waivers and setting up demo bikes according to Pivot guidelines during the demo events.
  • Writing required reports in an established format after each event to enable the sales, marketing and engineering staff to benefit from your on-the-road experiences.
  • Maintaining a professional image 24/7 while representing Pivot Cycles – how you handle yourself is a reflection on our company and brand, no matter what time of day it is.

 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous bicycle shop, demo driver or other relevant bicycle industry experience
  • Complete understanding of the bicycle – mechanical/components, suspension

  • Mechanic certifications are a plus

International Sales Specialist

International Sales Specialist

Full Time Position: Salary plus bonus/commission

Location: Tempe, AZ

Travel Requirement: Average of 1-2 weeks per month

We are looking for a sales driven individual, who rides bikes, is friendly, knowledgeable in the bike industry, goal oriented, and driven to join our International Sales team. As an International Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for selling product, training distributors about our bikes, and visiting international markets to ensure each account understands the technical information about our models, and help ensure orders are placed for product.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have an excellent knowledge of the bicycle industry, suspension, components
  • Be an experienced sales person in the bicycle industry
  • Have the ability to travel international – foreign language skills are not required, but preferred
  • Have a commitment to driving sales and creating sales opportunities with new and existing accounts
  • Be able to aid in our sales vision of providing excellent customer service and focused sales growth

Responsibilities:

  • Order entry and follow up
  • Provide best in class sales support
  • Visit international accounts and attend major International bike events as needed
  • Ensure each account is trained on technical details, as well as help to train the distributor’s sales force
  • Regular interaction with each of our international distributors and help drive sales
  • Organize opportunities with distributor to help reach out to magazines and new dealers in the distributor’s territory
  • Find new markets, where Pivot is not currently represented

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 to 5 years’ sales experience in the bicycle industry, with 2 to 3 years in a similar international bicycle related position
  • Complete understanding of the bicycle – mechanical, suspension and components
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to teach, train and sell where a language barrier exists
  • Detail oriented, organized and self-motivated individual
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products – Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Foreign language skills are a plus
  • International travel – maintain a valid US Passport with no restrictions on traveling to foreign countries
