Purchasing and Operations

Full Time Position: Hourly

Location: Tempe, AZ

We are looking for a friendly, motivated mountain bike rider/enthusiast who would like to join our Purchasing and Operations team. This person will assist the Purchasing and Operations Manager in planning, forecasting and purchasing components and consumables for production as well as the creation and maintenance of part numbers and BOMs.  A Bachelor’s degree and previous planning / purchasing experience is preferred with a strong knowledge of bicycle parts and frames.

Responsibilities:

  • Part number creation in an existing ERP System
  • Creating and updating information related to components, BOMs and finished goods in the ERP system
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of the component level forecast by model to calculate future requirements based on sales forecast and history
  • Managing inventory levels for components and consumables that do not have a sales forecast
  • Physical inventory data entry and verification
  • Seeking out efficiency through process and system improvements in relation to job duties
  • Supporting several departments with the ability to efficiently prioritize in order to balance competing requests from the departments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and previous purchasing role experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge base of bicycle parts and frames
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Accounts Payable Specialist

Full Time Position: Hourly

Location: Tempe

The Accounts Payable Specialist must have demonstrated accounting experience and strong knowledge of Operational Accounting in a manufacturing environment.  Responsibilities will include all aspects of Accounts Payable in a global organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements
  • Accounts Payable as it relates to inventory costing and quantity
  • Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Maintain accounting ledgers and historical records
  • Pay vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance
  • Prepare analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
  • Continue to improve the payment process
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Maintain current accounting controls and recommend modifications to accounting control policies and procedures as business dictates
  • Special projects as required

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of operational accounting experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar position
  • BA/BS in Accounting/Finance preferred
  • Inter-company/multi-department accounting experience
  • Multi-currency accounting experience
  • Inventory Accounts Payable accounting experience
  • Global Accounting experience with a demonstrated ability to manage accounting projects related to global expansion
  • MS Great Plains Dynamics or similar accounting software mandatory.  Experience isolated to QuickBooks and Peachtree does NOT meet the accounting systems requirement.
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) is mandatory

CNC Machinist/Programmer

Full Time Position: Hourly

Location: Tempe

We are looking for an individual with CNC lathe and mill experience to work in R&D and help with prototyping of new products.  The ideal candidate will have experience with CAM programming, set up, and machining parts for both mills and lathes.  They should also have qualified skills with conventional manual equipment and an understanding of welding and fabrication.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-3 years CNC machining experience
  • Degree in Manufacturing Technology or Manufacturing Engineering Technology
  • Understanding or experience with 3D machining
  • Fabricating and welding experience
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for cycling

Responsibilities:

  • Produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating CNC and conventional machines
  • Help assist in all aspects of prototyping and production

Customer Service Representative

Full Time Position: Hourly

Location: Tempe, AZ

We are looking for a friendly, motivated mountain bike rider/enthusiast who would like to join our Customer Service team. As a Customer Service Representative you will be responsible for answering phones, talking with consumers and dealers, and order entry. You will become familiar with our different models to help suggest to consumers what to buy and assist them with technical questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and work directly with consumers and dealers
  • Help visitors at our facility and provide tours
  • Follow up with potential customers
  • Suggestive selling to consumers and dealers
  • Aid in our sales vision while providing excellent customer service

Graphic Designer

Full time position: Salary

Location: Tempe, AZ

We are hiring a Graphic Designer who will work within the Design/Engineering team to lead the physical design of visual assets in a manner consistent with Pivot Cycles brand and design standards.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to complete designs for Pivot Cycles product – graphic design, color, packaging, retail fixture/POP needs, soft goods graphics & color and other media. The Graphic Designer will also lead internal creative conceptualization and planning discussions related to graphic design and future vision. The position will also develop color strategy with our Design/Engineering team and implement plans for commercialization. Additional responsibilities will include creation of the Pivot Cycles color library, graphic assets, material samples, and maintenance of all graphic design project files.

The ideal candidate will:
• Have a passion for cycling
• Exhibit high proficiency and knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
• Be highly creative in both 3D and 2D graphical concepts
• Possess strong knowledge of consumer products and outdoor industries
• Have a great eye for what’s new, current and on trend, and strong sensitivity to color, aesthetics and materiality
• Have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables, while adhering to project requirements and meeting deadlines
Other responsibilities:
• Work with the design/engineering team to design full graphics packages for bicycle frames (full size ranges) and components including paint and decal layout
• Update web content
• Design promotion and advertising materials
• Design product decals, specifying color, finish, and details
• Create full production files for approved concepts
• Support the Sales and Marketing teams in the creation of support media and POP items
• Work closely with the Design/Engineering team as well as Marketing for project management and resourcing needs

Requirements:
• BA or BFA in Graphic Design or related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in graphic design
• Experienced in 2D and 3D product graphic design

Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist

Full Time Position: Hourly
Location: Tempe, AZ

We are looking for a friendly, motivated mountain bike rider/enthusiast to join the Credit team at Pivot Cycles. The Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist is responsible for answering dealer and distributor questions about credit and terms via email and phone, contacting customers for payments, and reviewing sales orders for accuracy. This position also assists the Credit Manager in the day-to-day activities of the Credit Department which can include reviewing aged receivables, contacting customers for payment or updated financials, notifying internal departments of credit holds, and arranging payment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Answer customer’s questions about payment application, balances due, etc.
  • Send statements and invoices as needed
  • Work directly with dealers and distributors for payments and payment plans
  • Preparing and maintaining Accounts Receivable Aging Report
  • Maintain customer records
  • Follow up with potential customers for missing new account documents
  • Aid in our sales/credit vision while providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain customer records
  • Review and audit sales orders for accuracy
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers
  • Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries

Demo Fleet Organizer

Full Time Position: Hourly

Location: Tempe, AZ

Travel Requirement:  May travel one to two weekends per month during the Spring and Summer

Pivot Cycles is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented person with a passion for cycling to join our team.  The Demo Fleet Organizer manages the Pivot Cycles In-House Factory Demo Fleet as well as assists the traveling demo teams.  This position also supports the sales and marketing teams with special events.  In addition to being an excellent mechanic, the successful candidate will need to have exemplary people skills in order to work with the public while at demos.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the shipping and transferring of bikes between fleets
  • Coordinate with outside reps and dealers for demo bikes
  • Manage and maintain physical inventory of service parts
  • Maintain and adjust product inventory using GP Software
  • Assist in cataloging and shipping of service parts to demo teams
  • Manage inventory adjustments between demo fleets
  • Build new demo bikes
  • Prepare, clean and tune demo bikes for local dealer demos
  • Service retired demo bikes to prep for sale
  • Work at selected demo events and festivals
  • Assist with shipping and assembly when necessary

Product Designer

Full Time Position: Salary

Location: Tempe, AZ

We are looking for a detail oriented individual with a good Industrial Design or Engineering background that has good creative product design and documentation experience within SolidWorks and the Adobe Creative Suite. This person will be an integral member of the Design/Engineering team and will contribute to the creation of nearly all Pivot products. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to work with the design team to successfully bring new projects to production as well as to maintain production of current products through a heavily reviewed creative process involving conceptualization, 3D design, and production documentation. This position is directly involved in bicycle frame design, it will require the creation and modification of 3D models and detailed assemblies, 2D drawings, BOMs, as well as assembly and QC documentation. The position will require a good understanding of bicycle assembly components and related constraints. The candidate will need to have the patience and detailed mindset needed to properly design within all requirements in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Exhibit a good talent for exceptional aesthetic 3D design that is also functional.
  • Have excellent project management and project scheduling skills.
  • Be able to proficiently keep track of a multitude of projects at one time.
  • Have high proficiency in SolidWorks with the ability to model complex surfaces and assemblies.
  • Competently work within the Adobe Creative Suite to create documents.
  • Be able to competently create production drawings with tolerances within SolidWorks.
  • Be available to travel for work including an occasional trip to Asia
  • Have general mechanical bicycle knowledge and be a cycling enthusiast.
  • Have two years minimum of bicycle/frame design experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Design complete production-ready bicycle frames and assemblies in 3D.
  • Design vendor-ready graphics packages for bicycle frames and components.
  • Create Production and production support documentation and presentations.
  • Effectively manage production timelines and vendor schedules.
  • Work with Engineering, Design, Proto-typing and Manufacturing to take future Pivot Cycles products from idea to reality.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Industrial Design or Design Engineering is preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in product design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent SolidWorks skills in parts, drawings, and assemblies.

Quality Control/Assembly Specialist

We are looking for a friendly individual with an objective for maintaining a high quality standard, strong mechanical skills and good knowledgeable of the bicycle industry. As a Quality Control/Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for checking and maintaining the quality of every product so that it meets our standards and manufacturing guidelines. You will follow strict QC procedures and the proper assembly of bicycles and frames in accordance with set guidelines.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Quality checking of every bicycle frame according to set guidelines
  • Assembling every bicycle to meet our high quality standards
  • Verifying work orders
  • Packaging assembled bikes into boxes
